Tuesday Morning Bible Study

On Tuesday mornings we will be focusing on the relevance of the Apostle John’s first letter as it applies in today’s society. This outstanding letter was written during a period of intense controversy, conflict, and struggle. John was a pastor who cared deeply for his church and the welfare of its members; and through his letter–like the shepherd of a flock– endeavored to impart support and guidance. In so doing, he painted a sweeping panorama of what ought to be normal Christian thought and behavior, especially when congregational life gets tough. Yet, one needn’t be in a crisis to appreciate John’s words. Though the original text may have been motivated by controversy, the substance of his response can be applied in many situations. Please make plans to join us on Tuesdays at 9:30am as we learn from John’s inspired words to assess the quality of our life together and to build the type of Christian community that he undoubtedly envisioned.
